the humanity of GOD
{God the Father, with God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (the Trinity) created us in His own image and likeness}
“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness;
“So God created Mankind in His own image,”
“in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:26-2
“And the LORD God said, ‘The man has now become like one of us in knowing good and evil.'” Genesis 3:22a
{Our Father is consoling, reassuring, and supportive}
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
“But you LORD are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”
Psalm 86:15
{who promised all}
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
{God also feels anger, regret, remorse, kindness, and compassion. He expresses all of these traits throughout scripture.
After God’s creation of the earth, when human beings began to greatly increase in number;}
“The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.”
“The LORD regretted that He had made human beings on the earth and His heart was deeply troubled.”
“So the LORD said, I will wipe from the face of the Earth the human race I have created, and with them the animals in the birds and the creatures that move along the ground, for I regret that I have made them,
but Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.” Genesis 6:5-8
“So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them.”
“I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.”
“So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.” Genesis 6:11-14
{Again and later in scripture, speaking of His chosen people the Isrealites He said;}
“They defiled my holy name by their detesable practices. So I destroyed them in my anger.” Ezekiel 43:8b
{Many having been captured and imprisoned by their enemy. While in captivity, discouraged and facing an uncertain future, God felt compassion and spoke to His people through Isaiah}
“For a brief moment, I abandoned you, but with deep compassion, I will bring you back.”
“In a surge of anger, I hid my face from you for a moment;
but with everlasting kindness, I will have compassion on you, says the LORD your Redeemer.” Isaiah 54:7-8
{God makes and keeps His promises}
“To me, this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that I would never again let the waters cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again.” Isaiah 54:9
“But you LORD are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”
Psalm 86:1
{Though God’s love for us is unconditional, we are subject to the repercussions of our decissions. Though He is compassionate, merciful and forgiving, it is to our own detrement if we disregard another particular and inconveinent aspect of God’s personality, He is a jealous God.}
“For you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is jealous, is a jealous God. Exodus 34:14”
{God’s jealousy, should not be confused with the definition usually attributed to human jellousy, which highlights negative feelings of resentment against another person, such as for their success, possessions, or advantages. God actually refers to that type of jealousy as “covetness.”
The jealosy attributed to God, would be defined as “solicitous” or “vigilant”; jealosy in maintaining or guarding something; being fiercely protective of one’s rights for example.
This is the kind of jealousy that applies to God, “His intolerance of unfaithfulness or rivalry.”
{God is jealous for the devotion, wholeheartedness, loyalty, and love of His people.}
{Think of it like this, just as a husband or wife can not accept adultery in one another, neither will God accept infidelity in us.
Conversely, what would we think of a man or woman who did not experience jealous feelings when someone else threatens to win the affection of their spouse?
Most would likely consider that person as lacking moral character or true love.
So the jealousy of God is an important and necessary aspect of His majestic, holy, and loving character.}
{God is Omnibenevolent: All-loving; He loves everyone; He posseses perfect and unlimited Goodness; He is Love.
It is difficult for us to understand, much less to convey His perfect love, but then God is not of this world.
And you may feel that His devine love is unattainable for you, or that you are simply not worthy of His love, or His forgveness, but you’d be wrong.
The truth is, neither you or I, no one on this earth is or ever has been truly worthy of God’s love.
There is also nothing you or I or anyone can do to earn His love, it is only by His goodness, mercy and grace that we may have a relationship with Him
We have all commited sin, we have all fallen short and still do in some way, shape or form. No one is worthy of His unfailing love.}
“However, God is rich in mercy. He brought us to life with Christ while we were dead as a result of those things that we did wrong He did this because of the great love that He has for us. You are saved by God’s grace. Ephesians 2:4 through 5
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent His one and only son into the world so that we might live through Him. 1st John 4:9
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that who should ever believe in him would not perish but have everlasting life.”God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
John 3:16-17
“Neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:39
Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:18
“However, God is rich in mercy. He brought us to life with Christ while we were dead as a result of those things that we did wrong He did this because of the great love that He has for us. You are saved by God’s grace. Ephesians 2:4 through
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God because God is love. ” 1st John 4:7-9
“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and possess, all knowledge, and if I have such faith that I can move mountains, but I do not have love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2
Who is God?
In His own words;
“I AM WHO I AM (Yahweh” – The Lord)
“Look to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth!
For I am GOD, there is no other!” Isaiah 45:22
Provided a clear understanding of who God actually is, do you believe our moralistic values, “Right and Wrong”, “Good and Bad” were all established by, and are grounded in, God?
